Welcome to my blog! In this post, I’ll share my personal trekking experience to a peaceful mountain destination near Chandigarh, located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh.
Hi, I’m Arun Bhatt. I recently hiked this serene trail with my friends, and through this blog, I’ll cover everything—from travel tips to the highlights of the journey, including temples, forest views, and local legends.
We started our trip by booking a cab from Sawaaritaxi.com to Chambaghat, which is about 80–81 km from Chandigarh and serves as the base point for the trek. The drive took around 2.5 to 3 hours through scenic mountain roads.
This trail is about 7–8 km one way and is categorized as easy to moderate. We packed enough water, energy bars, and a power bank. There’s only one shop near Dalog, so plan your essentials in advance.
The temple stands at around 7,000 feet (2,100 meters) above sea level. From here, you get panoramic views of the Churdhar ranges and even Shimla on a clear day. The peaceful vibes at the top are unforgettable.
The forest is full of Chir Pine, Himalayan Oak, and Deodar Cedar. You’ll also spot wild barberry, ferns, and moss-covered paths.
After passing Dalog, the trail becomes quieter and greener. Signboards guide you all the way to the Karol Devi Temple — the highlight of this journey.
According to local legend, this cave connects to Pinjore and is linked to Bhim from the Mahabharata. While there's no scientific proof, the story adds a mystical charm to the trail.
Note: No historical research confirms this cave link — it's purely folklore passed down through generations.
Thanks for reading! This was one of the most refreshing hikes I’ve done, and I highly recommend it to anyone near Chandigarh. If you plan wisely and start early, the experience will be just as peaceful and scenic as mine. Karol ka Tibba is truly a hidden gem in the Himalayas.
